Mitski - Nothing's About To Happen to Me - Indie Edit
Fewer things give us more pleasure than the prospect of a new Mtiski album to dive into. From the grunge pop of 'Bury Me…' & 'Puberty 2', to the glamour of 'Be The Cowboy' & the subtle beauty of 'The Land is Inhospitable…', we've never known exactly what to expect next, but we've always fallen head over heels for whatever fresh fruits have grown from this incredible songwriter's labours.
If its lead single, 'Where's My Phone?', is anything to go by, we may well see a return to her rockier roots, irresistibly blending rough & ready guitar distortion with those sublime vocal melodies that have transformed her into a worldwide icon!
Nothing’s About to Happen to Me is the eighth studio album by Mitski. All songs and vocals are by Mitski. The album was produced and engineered by Patrick Hyland and mastered by Bob Weston, with assistance on drums and logistics from Kris Bulakowski.
Continuing the musical through line established with The Land Is Inhospitable and So Are We, the album features live instrumentation by The Land touring band and ensemble arrangements. The orchestra was recorded at Sunset Sound and TTG Studios, arranged and conducted by Drew Erickson, engineered by Michael Harris, with additional engineering by Isaac Diskin and assistance from Alex Miller.
Standout singles include “Where’s My Phone?,” “I’ll Change for You,” and “If I Leave.”
